Biography
Ahmed Buckley is an independent expert on counter terrorism-finance who co-designed and delivered trainings on sanctions implementation and compliance to national authorities and financial institutions. He is a certified blockchain analyst and an expert on terrorist use of virtual assets and trade based terrorism finance. He co-drafted the Joint Report on Actions Taken by Member States to Disrupt Terrorism Finance pursuant to UNSC resolution 2462 (2019). He is an ACAMS Certified Global Sanctions Specialist and helped develop the first study-guide for that credential. Previously, he served as a member of on the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team supporting the UN 1267 Sanctions Committee on ISIL and Al-Qaida.
